Subject: Gerardo Comes Home Today

Today Gerardo comes home.  We thought maybe yesterday, but today is the real deal.  His blood pressure has leveled out.   I spent the day with him yesterday.  We played war, solitare and laughed.   I know I always share about a child in desparate need when I come back, this week is no exception.  Gerardo's next bed neighbor has been Spencer, he is a little older than Gerardo and speaks a very broken spanish, he is from La Mosquitio (the jungles on the far coast).  Spencer has been able to go home for a week, but can't.  He is from La Mosquitio where his family lives.  He has kidney failure.  He has been living in La Ceiba so that he could do dialysis, away from family.  La Ceiba is on the coast also.  He became very sick and was brought to Teguc.  He now has a problem with his heart.  He has stabilized but he can only be treated in Teguc. now, over 5 hours from his home where there is not even a paved road out.  He needs dialysis 3 times a week.  So the hosptial will take him and place him in an IHNFA center in the city.  Again I wished for the capacity to be able to take him home with us.   Please pray with us for this young man, Spencer.  God knows his days and has a plan in the darkness. Paula
