Greetings Yall,

There are a couple new arrivals in the cow family. Actually, one is a few months old, the lighter colored one that the girls call Molasses.

Molasses is the daughter of our yellow call named "Droopsy" because of her Brahman ears, which droop down almost a foot. Below are a couple shots of the new "Red Bull", son of his father "Red Bull", whom we butchered last year because we believe he ate plastic, which causes the stomach to bloat up and suffocate a cow/bull. We have to be very diligent about picking up trash that blows into the yard, especially in the summer when there is much less grass to eat. If the cows get desperate enough, they will gobble up a plastic bag and their lives end within a day or so.

Red Bull, or Red Bull Jr. is the son of our white cow Brahman the boys named "Deli". They thought they heard the former Mennonite owners call her "Deli", but they actually called her "Ellie". Deli has been a good, hearty cow so far and given us two calves in two years. I told the boys that the name "Deli" is probably fitting as Deli is short for "Delicatessan"; also because Deli is a pretty meaty cow.
