Parade Day
Message:
Just dropped David off, to escort little Misael to his parade assembly area. I am at a coffee shop, work, and waiting for it to end. Patriotism here, like medicine, is probably what it was in America about 50 years ago, before Vietnam. To be honest, I am a little indifferent to the time warp. While I am not the most patriotic, excitable guy, I am thankful that others are. Getting caught up in flag waving is just not something I ever really cared about, here or there. I never really got excited about my schools, my state, favorite football team or my country. I am very grateful for all the people who served made the USA a free nation, do not get me wrong. It is just that I want to believe in and pursue something bigger, something eternal. The kingdoms of this world will come and go, but God and His Word will never pass away.
