Subject: Mother's Day in Honduras

Mother's Day is  big holiday in this country, bordering on holiweek sometimes. It's not real commercialized, at least it's not if you don't watch television. Primary schools typically put on some performances and lunch for the school mom's on Saturday. The week leading up to it is usually craft construction and practice for those performances.

Here at Hope Farm, Paula is out folding the eight loads of laundry washed yesterday, and hung on the clothesline. She put another load in the washer and is hanging out what was washed earlier this morning. No reminders necessary on how much of a mother she is here.

Meanwhile, Faith, Tim and Walter are driving around shopping, looking for a Mother's Day gift.

I think something might be askew here, but that's the way we roll.
