Just over a week ago we sent out an urgent request for prayer. All that I can say is, it worked. God worked. Thanks for your prayers.
Just to refresh, IHNFA (the child protective service in Honduras) called and told us that all of the children need psychological evaluations and that we need to come up with $500 to pay for them.
The truth has been revealed through a series of networking, some of which was highly "coincidental". The truth is (the law is) that IHNFA cannot require something of an orphanage AND require that the orphanage pay for it (outside of basic food, clothing and shelter). As a matter of fact, the psychologist that performed the evaluations is an IHNFA employee. Therefore his services are paid for by IHNFA and he cannot charge us for them.
So we were advised by another local orphanage director to simply be cordial to IHNFA but when they ask for payment to tell them we need to speak with our lawyer first. This we did. The psychologist gave up on trying to collect from us although he did call our president and was very upset.
We basically have nothing to hide from IHNFA, so they don't have any leverage over us to demand payoffs. We make every correction that they demand of us when they find things like uncovered water tanks, a deck of cards or something else that is against orphanage rules.
Thanks again for your prayers! Thanks to our Father for answering them.
